Walking to work provides you with a free healthy means of commuting to work. No traffic, no public transit delays, no parking fees, no concerns about rising gas prices, and lower car maintenance costs. Start by walking home one evening, and enjoying the sights and sounds of your neighborhood. Stop off at your favorite cafe or store, (you will not have to worry about finding a parking space), venture into the public library, or window shop. You will be home before you know it.
National Walk to Work Day is held on the first Friday In April. The 2006 Walk to Work Day was held on Friday, April 7th from 7:30am to 9:30am at the Malkin Quad. Over 100 people attended Harvard's first Walk to Work Day Event, and enjoyed food, raffle prizes and conversing with their fellow walkers. Mark you calendar for next year for this event, and join us in the celebrating
of walking as a means of transportation to work.
